Principles of quality management according to NBR ISO 9001:2000
To drive and operate a successful organization is needed to direct it and control it in a transparent and systematic way. Success can result from the implementation and maintenance of a management system designed to continuously improve performance, taking into account the needs of stakeholders. The management of an organization includes, among other disciplines, quality management. ?
Eight quality management principles can be identified to guide the organization and improve its performance:
1. FOCUS ON THE CUSTOMER – Organizations depend on their customers and, therefore, agree that they understand the current and future needs of the client, looking to exceed expectations;
2. LIDERSHIP – Leaders establish unity of purpose and direction of the organization.They should create and maintain an environment completely, in which people can become fully involved in achieving the goals of the organization;
3. INVOLVEMENT OF PEOPLE – People of all levels are the essence of an organization and their full involvement enables their abilities to be used for the benefit of the organization; ?
4. APPROACH PROCEDURE – A result is achieved more efficiently when activities and related resources are managed as a process; ?
5. SYSTEMIC APPROACH TO MANAGEMENT – Identifying, understanding and managing interrelated processes with a system that contributes to the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization so that it achieves its objectives; ?
6. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT – That should improve the overall performance of the organization is a permanent goal; ?
7. FACTUAL APPROACH TO DECISION MAKING – Effective decisions are the basis of the data analysis of information; ?
8. MUTUAL BENEFIT IN RELATIONS WITH SUPPLIERS – An organization and its suppliers are interdependent and a mutually beneficial relationship enhances the ability of both adding value. ?
These eight quality management principles form the basis for the standards of quality management system in the ISO 9000 family. ?
